Before placing a PC-to-PC call to another BuddyTalk user you must know their "Device No." Use the "Global Search" feature in the "BuddyTalk Dialer" to look up their "Device Number." Once you find your buddy, select them and then click the "Add to Address Book" button for future easy access to their number.

PC to PC calls are free and are also known as in-network calling within the Buddy Talk system. InnoMedia is behind this softphone and VoIP product and we must say their softphone is intuitive, smart looking, and it resembles a remote control. PC to regular telephones requires an account but rates are competitive. A common sight among VoIP providers, low competive international calling rates are a benefit to you.

When you fund your Buddy Talk account you can call any telephone in over 200 countries. You can download and install their software on Windows Xp or Windows 2000 without creating an account. If you decide to use Buddy Talk as your paid VoIP service just click the "My Buddies" icon on the phone and create an account.

According to their website "A 28.8Kbps dial-up Internet connection is all that BuddyTalk requires. However, other factors such as latency and packet loss will affect the quality of your calls. Consult your ISP to find out the general quality of your connection. Also, the faster your connection, the better the quality of your BuddyTalk calls. If your connection is less than 28.8Kbps, the quality of communication will suffer."
