dialpadchameleon - a word that will never pass a spell checker - is DialPad's free softphone download. Chameleon runs on Windows platforms from Windows 95 on up to the latest versions of Windows.

Claiming to have 14 million users on the day we wrote this article, DialPad is now owned by Yahoo. Subscriber numbers are sure to increase. Competition from Ebay's purchase of Skype is making the Voip market more competitive than ever. Here at Hot VoIP Phones we look for these capabilities from a provider, as a minimum:
Per-second billing
Low rates
ATA adapter useability
Softphone free download
Reliable Voip Network backbone
Good support

DialPad does have low 0.017 (USD) per minute rates, slightly lower than the average 0.029. Other options include USA and Canada monthly plans, presumably as a challenge to Vonage. A dialpadUSA unlimited plan is $11.99 (USD).
