Old PBX’s Going Away as VoIP Alternatives Save Money
It’s a no-brainer that VoIP is cheaper than traditional phone service for the majority of businesses. Price is a driving factor for organizations from the Pentagon to Pizza Hut to switch to VoIP. ThyssenKrupp Elevator Co. of Alpharetta, Ga., has joined them.
ThyssenKrupp is moth-balling the old PBXes and employing a Shoretel VoIP platform throughout its 160 offices comprising about 4,000 phones, Network World reports. The foundation was laid three years ago when the company adopted an MPLS meshed network from Verizon.
